2.20.010 Public Works Department- Functions - Composition.

The public works department shall have charge of the functions assigned to the public works department by the charter. The department shall be composed of the following sections: engineering section, administration section, building and safety section, project management section, integrated waste management section, traffic and transportation section, maintenance services section, and fleet and equipment management section. (Ord. No. 5674, § 8, 10-20-2009; prior code § 2-33)

2.20.020 Director of public works.

A. The director of public works shall be the head of the public works department. For purposes of all improvement acts in the state streets and highway code, and construction of public improvements pursuant thereto, the director of public works shall be the maintenance services administrator and shall have and exercise all the powers and duties which the maintenance services administrator may possess by virtue of such acts.

B. The director of public works shall be an officer of the city. (Ord. No. 5674, § 9, 10-20-2009; prior code § 2-34)

2.20.030 Engineering section--City engineer generally.*

The city engineer shall be the head of the engineering section. (Prior code § 2-35)

2.20.040 Maintenance services section—Administrator generally.

The maintenance services administrator shall be the head of the maintenance services section. (Ord. No. 5674, § 10, 10-20-2009; prior code § 2-36)

2.20.050 Building inspection section--Administrator generally.

The building official shall be the head of the building section. (Ord. No. 5674, § 11, 10-20-2009; prior code § 2-37)

2.20.060 Integrated waste management section--Administrator generally.

The integrated waste management administrator shall be the head of the integrated waste management section. (Prior code § 2-38)

2.20.070 Traffic and transportation section--Administrator generally.

The traffic and transportation administrator shall be the head of the traffic and transportation section. (Prior code § 2-38.5)

2.20.080 Fleet and equipment maintenance section—Administrator generally.

The fleet manager shall be the head of the fleet and equipment maintenance section. (Ord. No. 5674, § 12, 10-20-2009; prior code § 2-38.7)

2.20.090 Permit services center--Administrator generally.

The permit services administrator shall be the head of the permit services center. (Added during 1995 recodification)
